Five Days in Mexico With Vegan Creators and More Ideas Than Luggage

The Life of a Modern Renaissance Man: A Video Journal, entry 32

Imagine being in Puerto Vallarta, surrounded by lush scenery, incredible vegan food, and a group of people who actually understand why somebody would spend thirty minutes discussing social media strategy over brunch. That was my kind of trip.

I traveled to Mexico for a five-day retreat with thirteen vegan influencers and creators. We met up for food, headed toward a gorgeous village setting, swapped ideas, and talked about growing our work while staying connected to the purpose behind it.

The journey itself was an adventure. We took the Brightline toward Miami, flew out, explored Puerto Vallarta, and immediately discovered that there were enough vegan options to make our itinerary dangerously food-centered. There was an all-you-can-eat brunch, a vegan taqueria, and some truly memorable flan. Important professional research, obviously.

What made the experience meaningful was the community. Creative entrepreneurship can get isolating when you're always producing, planning, filming, and trying to turn attention into impact. Sitting with people who share your values and understand the challenges can be energizing in a different way.

I came home reminded that collaboration and friendship are part of success. You can learn from another person's process without becoming them, and you can celebrate somebody else's wins without shrinking your own ambition.

Also, I would absolutely return for that flan.
