This trailer is for I Can Do All Things, a Dallas comedy short I filmed the year before posting it. The story follows a guy whose life is falling apart, with bills, work, religion, and questionable decisions all colliding in glorious fashion. There's a pastor, a job situation, and enough desperation to make the title sound like a threat.
I love characters who are convinced they're the hero of their own story even as everything around them says otherwise. I've met that person. I've occasionally been that person. There's something deeply human about trying to manifest a breakthrough while reality is standing at your front door asking about the rent.
Putting this trailer out reminded me why I love acting and filmmaking. A strange idea can turn into a real production when people decide to make it together. I wanted to keep building stories with my creative family in Dallas, especially the ones that make people laugh at uncomfortable truths.
I still believe I can do all things. I'm just a little more interested these days in checking which things are actually a good idea.
