Supafly: Permission to Be Loud, Colorful, and Entirely Myself
There are days when I want to make something introspective and philosophical. Then there are days when I want to put on a track, get in front of a camera, and feel absolutely supafly.

The Life of a Modern Renaissance Man: A Video Journal, entry 27
There are days when I want to make something introspective and philosophical. Then there are days when I want to put on a track, get in front of a camera, and feel absolutely supafly.
This video comes from the second kind of day.
For Supafly, I wrote the song and took on directing, filming, creative direction, and editing, with Gabrielle assisting on camera. I love how much control that kind of production gives me over the feeling of the final piece. The song can have its own visual personality, and I get to build that personality one frame at a time.
Part of my creative journey has involved learning that the many different sides of me don't have to compete. I can be a serious actor, a poet asking existential questions, a graphic designer obsessing over typography, and a rapper having fun in the same year. Sometimes in the same week. Occasionally before lunch.
Supafly represents the joy of that range. I don't have to earn the right to be playful by first publishing a lecture on why play matters. I can simply make the thing, commit to the energy, and share it.
That's one of the best parts of this life: the freedom to keep discovering new ways to show up as myself.
