For somebody who loves having seventeen creative projects going at once, I have spent an impressive amount of time discovering that I am, in fact, one human being.
This livestream was about the tension between ambition and burnout. I wanted to share practical strategies for staying motivated and productive, especially with artists and entrepreneurs trying to create meaningful work without becoming completely overwhelmed.
The first idea was simple: define your goals and priorities. If you don't know where you're going, it's hard to recognize whether today's activity is moving you forward. I talked about writing things down, building better habits, taking care of yourself, and leaning on support systems rather than trying to run an entire life alone.
Naturally, the technology gave me trouble almost immediately. The screen disappeared, part of my introduction vanished, and I had to improvise my way back into the conversation. Honestly, very on-brand for a seminar about staying organized.
But I liked that it was live. I didn't want to pretend I'd mastered productivity. I wanted to share tools that had helped me while continuing to learn them myself.
I still need that reminder. My ambition is a gift, and it works best when I give it direction, rest, and the permission to concentrate on what actually matters today.
