I have always been fascinated by the relationship between identity and action. What happens when you decide to become the person you believe you're meant to be, then start behaving like that decision is real?
Crowned came from that place. It's a song about purpose, faith, self-belief, and pursuing a vision that doesn't necessarily make sense to everybody else yet. I wanted the track to feel bold because I was trying to speak from the kind of certainty that gets you out of bed and into the work.
Being an artist requires a slightly unreasonable amount of belief. You audition for roles you might not book. You release music people might ignore. You make films and hope the story finds an audience. If you wait for proof before you act, you might never get started.
Of course, belief still has to meet discipline. I've learned that confidence makes its best argument when it gets up, rehearses, edits, and follows through. The crown in the title is a symbol of responsibility as much as ambition.
I love that I could express all of this through music and visual storytelling. Sometimes a motivational speech needs a little bass under it. Sometimes it needs an entire music video.
